I didn't know that! :D
I am supposed to be looking through the Singapore Armed Forces Act for my essay (which I did, ok) when I chanced upon this... I really didn't know that!Weight and Measures Act, Cap. 349
Sale of goods in metric units

(b) uses for trade any weight or measure other than a weight or measure of the metric system;
(c) uses for trade any weighing or measuring instrument other than a weighing or measuring instrument which weighs or measures only by reference to weights or measures other than weights or measures of the metric system; or
(d) in the course of or for the purposes of any trade or business, uses, whether on any package, or in any price list or advertisement or otherwise, any unit of a weight or measure other than a weight or measure of the metric system, in advertising, displaying, or exposing goods for sale,
shall be guilty of an offence.
So, better go and learn your kilograms and metres properly... Haha by law you can't even advertise goods using other measurement units :P
Haha and I had a lot a lot a lot of sushi yesterday! All kinds of fishes, from familiar to absolutely unfamiliar... and the sashimi come in CHUNKS! It was really really nice and shiok; at the end we were so full that we almost have to play 终极密码 again to finish up everything. Expensive though (think we spent about ~20 bucks per person?)... haha but A*Star is paying for it, so don't care :D
And realised that whenever I have sucessfully found something, it will always come in pairs. I went downtown on Friday to get ladyfingers and Mascarpone cheese for my tiramisu. Then yesterday when I was in Towson, I discovered the exact same thing in Trader Joe's. Though the trip downtown was not without merits... I ventured into Lexington Market and walked around for a while; it's a really really big marketplace selling all sorts of food. I didn't exactly take notice of what is nice because I was alone, and that place, you can say, consist of almost 100% African Americans, whose behaviour can be rather unpredictable especially when they are in a group. So I just got my stuff from the Italian grocery store nearby and went back, trying my best to avoid encounters which can be more traumatising than the one with my professor. Haha when Wen Yu comes can go with him to walk around town some more... At least now I know where Lexington Market is...
