i. Planets are held in orbit round the sun by gravity.
ii. I am held on the Earth's surface by gravity.
iii. Therefore, all matter attract each other by gravity.
Which way of reasoning makes more sense to you?
The first kind of reasoning is known as 'deduction' or 'a priori'; the second kind is known as 'induction' or 'a posteriori'. Haha choose one and tell me! It doesn't matter if you are religious or not, because God can also be proven using a posteriori reasoning. I am just using convenient examples to illustrate.
But it sure does tell me whether you are the follower of an English or a French. Interesting huh.
